About the Programme
The Bachelor of Science in Public Health (BScPH) course develops the skills and knowledge of those students who desire to pursue a career geared towards promoting the health of the community. The BScPH course is designed to promote an understanding of health and disease based on public health principles.
The primary goal of the program is to train public health professionals who will seek to improve the quality of life of individuals and communities. The degree is a 3-year program that aims to train students in skills to obtain, review and analyze health information, to plan and manage health projects and to improve the health of populations.
The BSc. programme in Public Health will provide training that will equip learners with the knowledge, skills and attitude to address relevant public health concerns in the community. Graduates from the programme will be equipped with appropriate skills, knowledge and attitude to identify public health problems, design solutions to those problems, and plan and execute appropriate public health interventions.
