The department of Human Resources and Supplies Management is a department under the College of Economics and Management (CEM) of Kampala International University. At the department of Human Resources and Supplies Management, we are committed to providing an enabling environment for our students to thrive academically and professional by ensuring that we have the right lecturers with the right skills, professional pedigree and experience to impart knowledge. The school is commited to an experiential mode of learning which allows students address and find solutions to real life problems through problem solving exercise, team building exercises, internship and many other activities.

We believe that the Human Resource person is the backbone of any organization and their actions or inactions can make or destroy such an organization. Because of their great importance in any industry and field, the department of Human Resources and Supplies Management has gone to great lengths to ensure that our curriculum and teaching methods adhere to national, regional and international standards.

Majority of students go on to lucrative careers in different industries (private, public and non-governmental) and others proceed for further studies in order to pursue a career in academic or research.

Objectives

  • Provide competent instruction in relevant accounting techniques and issues
  • Support students in experiential learning to foster their academic, career and personal growth
  • Provide students with skills to enable them pursue a career in the public and private sectors and remain internationally competitive
  • Equip our students with skills that will enable them pursue a career in research and contribute to national and international discourse in relation to human resource and supply chain management.
  • Prepare students for further studies in the field of Human resources.

Our mission is to prepare students for successful career in Human Resource and supplies management in world-class and highly competitive organizations by fostering intellectual and personal growth, developing specific skill sets relevant to the global business community. We place emphasis on innovative programs, experiential learning, delivered with a focus on individual learning outcomes, applied research and active engagement with external stakeholders.

Vision

To provide our students with an exceptional learning experience in Human Resource and Supplies Management and to become the institution of  first choice for people seeking a career in Human resource management, industrial relations, procurement and supply chain management.

Our philosophy aligns closely with that of the College of Economics and Management of Kampala International University and it guides our action, curriculum and conduct of staff members in the department of Human Resources and Supplies Management of Kampala International University.
