School of Nursing Sciences
School of Nursing Sciences coordinates teaching, research, student mentorship and programme delivery within KIU.
Kampala International University (KIU) was established in October 2001, with a vision to become an institution of national and international recognition, excelling in providing education, pursuing research, community service and advocacy.
KIU has, as one of its schools, the school of nursing sciences (SONS) whose philosophy is to train health professionals who are conversant with the health problems of the communities they will serve; and who have knowledge, skills and above all, appropriate attitudes that will make them sufficiently competent to run the health services so as to achieve for all in the next few decades.
KIU-SONS started in 2002 at Kampala Campus, later moved to western campus after the construction of KIU Teaching Hospital. The school of nursing sciences is housed at western campus located at Bushenyi, Ishaka town and it is attached to KIU teaching hospital where students are placed for clinical experience.
