Course Description

This course introduces comprehensive exposition of the techniques how and machinery can

be put back to  efficiency through reliability of every  mechanical component for  better operational conditions.

COURSE JUSTIFICATION/RATIONALE:

This Course aims to prepare the students for more advanced study in reliability and maintainability engineering. Furthermore, this Course will enable the students to collect and analyze failure and repair data, derive appropriate reliability and maintainability models and apply these models in the design and maintenance of products, components, and systems.

COURSE OBJECTIVES

At the end of this course, the student should be able to:

  •   Develop a maintenance schedule to minimize wearing
  •    Determine a proper inspection program

LEARNING OUTCOMES

A student on completing this course is expected to:

  •    Carry out non-destructive testing as an aid to maintenance
  •    Apply lubrication techniques
