Course Content and Outline

COURSE AIM

The aim of the course is to enable students to undertake a literal and theological study of the different categories of prophets and the wisdom literature books.

EXPECTED LEARNING OUTCOMES

 By end of the course unit, students should be able to:

  • Explore the different categories of prophets.
  • Identify the characteristics of the different categories of prophets.
  • Explore the content/message of the prophets and wisdom literature and their relevance for Christians.

 

Prophets in Israel

  • Minor prophets:
  • Prophet Hosea
  • Prophet Amos
  • Major Prophets:
  • Prophet Isaiah
  • Prophet Jeremiah
  • Prophet Ezekiel
  • Prophet Daniel

Wisdom Literature (the Writings).

  • The book of Job
  • The book of Psalms.
