Course Description

Course Description

The course presents an overview of both theoretical and applied dimensions of education polices. It introduces students to the different ways of critically analyzing education policies, including policy goals, policy implementation, problem identification and evaluation. It will enable students to apply an insights provided in the course to their actual work.

Course objective

The objective of this courseis to help students understand the theories and practice of educational policy and analysis within, local, national and global, economic and political context.

 

Course Learning Outcomes

By the end of the course unit, students should demonstrate ability to:

·         Describe educational policies and their theoretical foundations

·         Describe the policy development techniques from HEP, UWESCO, EU and World Bank covering policy of borrowing

·         Explain the constraints/factors affecting policy implementation in Uganda
