Course Description

COURSE DESCRIPTION

The course introduces and examines requirements for building services and methods of installing them.

 

COURSE JUSTIFICATION/RATIONALE

This course enables students to acquire knowledge of systems installed in buildings to make them comfortable, functional, efficient and safe

 

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

By the end of this course, the student should be able to:

·        Design services in a building and other engineering structures;

·        Demonstrate an understanding of the installation services in a building and other engineering structures.

·        Design domestic water distribution/ plumbing system

·        Design a simple domestic drainage system

 

LEARNING OUTCOMES

A student on completing this course is expected to:

·        Draw the electric layout of a building

·        Draw a water supply layout of the building

·        Draw the waste water/sewerage layout from the building

·        Carry out plumbing of the building

·        Fix electricity  into the building effectively
