Course Description

Tourism is a major industry in Uganda and the rest of the world. For professionals in the industry, it is impossible to avoid meeting and interacting with people from other parts of the world. Indeed, the essence of tourism is finding out more about the world beyond our immediate surroundings.

EXPECTED LEARNING OUTCOMES

By the end of the course unit, students should be able to:

Discuss the role of the Tour Operator in the tourism industry.

Identify the tourism attractions and activities in the destination zones of Uganda/East Africa.

Demonstrate an ability to draw up tour itineraries and cost them.

Demonstrate and ability to apply the acquired skills and knowledge in relation to tour operations.
