Course Description

The purpose of this course is to enable students learn more about the world they live in and understand and appreciate the differences and uniqueness of various places on earth. This knowledge will familiarize them with the countries tourists come from and enable them to know the attractions of each place as a tourist destination and hence improve their skills as professionals in the tourism industry.

EXPECTED LEARNING OUTCOMES

By the end of the course unit, students should be able to;

Explain the tourism planning

Discuss the meaning of policy and design in tourism

Analyze the approaches to tourism planning

Discuss the relationship between tourism planning, tourism policy and design

Analyze tourism plans and tourism policies in East Africa
