Course Description

VCOURSE DESCRIPTION

The course unit looks at water as an environment for biological organisms, examines how water can be used to improve the quality of human life and the human activities that can compromise the quality of water and hence the lives of aquatic organisms

COURSE JUSTIFICATION

Offers knowledge to learners on aquatic ecosystems, complementing basic ecology in how to best utilize such environments for sustainable development.

EXPECTED LEARNING OUTCOMES

By the end of the course unit, students should be able to:

·         Describe management practices of aquatic ecosystems

·         Protect the aquatic habitats

·                     Promote efforts geared towards increasing food resources from water       bodies.

·                     Describe the effect of human activities on aquatic life

·                     Explain the interrelationships of organization aquatic ecosystem.
