Course Description

This course introduces a student to the origins of civil wrongs between private persons, and also between private persons and corporate bodies or government bodies. This course will further equip the student with skills to identify negligent behaviour in civil wrongs and the attendant obligations or remedies.LEARNING OUTCOMES

By the end of the course, students should be able to:

  • Explore the history of the law of civil wrongs to persons or their property.
  • Analyze the evolutionary dynamics of the law of torts.
  • Explain how legal persons commit torts and the legal implications thereof.
  • Discuss the defences and remedies available to the parties.
