Course Content and Outline

COURSE CONTENT

·      Introduction to Differential Equations, definitions and terminology.

·      Initial value problems, mathematical models.

·      First order equations. Solution curves, separable variables, linear equations, exact equations, solutions by substitution. Higher order equations.

·      Linear equations, reduction of order.

·      homogeneous linear equations with constant coefficients, undetermined coefficients, superposition approach, annihilator approach, variation of parameters,

·      Cauchy-Euler equations, linear systems, nonlinear equations. Series solutions. Solutions about ordinary points. solutions about singular points.
