Course Description

COURSE DESCRIPTION

This course is a continuation of Introduction to Probability. It is intended for upper-level undergraduate students in the mathematical sciences. To introduce students to some of the basic methods of inferential statistics and prepare them for further study in Statistics.

EXPECTED LEARNING OUTCOMES

By the end of this course unit, students should be able to:

·      Apply statistical hypotheses tests.

·      Apply regression theory.

·      Apply experimental design (latin squares, factorial designs, confounding, fractional replication, etc.).

·      Apply non-parametric analysis of variance. Topics selected from multivariate analysis, sequential analysis or time series analysis.
