Course Content and Outline

 Introduction to production Management:

This core course in the industrial department introduces students to the following aspects of production management

Definition of terminologies i.e. production management design concepts/ideas, manufacturing, production technique, machinery

Production management in the business context will involve the following. Taking consideration of all design disciplines, development process, design and corporate strategy, production management, corporate strategy, production management, corporate identity, image, consultancy and in house design teams.

The concept of management and business management will help students to create and disseminate the work of art through better communication mean and management methods Examining materials and process involved in production management such as wood metal glass etc their types and characteristics

Examining production processes and working techniques such as cutting process, drilling, attaching, filling, finishing, shaping

An understanding of various tools, safety measures, relation between product manufacturing techniques and cost

Understanding material, characteristics, metal, alloys, plastics, polymer us, ceramics, including the production process, cutting, bending, welding, decoration, slipping recurring, firing, ceramics, equipment, tools, techniques i.e. hand-forming, pinching, coiling slab, drying kiln process, casting, shaving etc
