Course Description

Advanced Production Management

This unit introduces students to the following aspects of production and management

This unit introduces processes of design concept, creation, content, training, developing of skills, creative thinking, transformation of ideas, creativity, concept development, idea development and synthesizing, meaning and design purposes.

An in-depth study of design processes in theory and practice to develop skills, create design alternatives, understanding, functionality and purpose. Developing skills in problem solving. Problem solving through creative approaches, relationship between products and users, product and organization or society, understanding, functionality, integration of aesthetic, form and emotion, colour. Quality systems, total design process, market, consumer Demand

The studio part involves, practice and experimentation with new concept to create innovative products, emphasis on research, synthesizing and analyzing information, problem identification and create alternatives and solution for new concepts, marketing principles, training.

Also involves, costing and charging for design services

Familiarization with property, law, filling in patent protection, quality systems, business strategies trade marks.  Professionals in the filed should be involved as guest lecturers
