Course Content and Outline

EXPECTED LEARNING OUTCOMES

  1. To practice teaching skills as student- teachers
  2. ·To orient student-teachers to teaching and learning environment
  3. To expose student-teachers to various school issues such as co-curriculaactivities, school management practices and reflection
  4. Enable the student teachers to acquire skills for assessing students and record    keeping.
  5. Demonstrate professional communicative techniques with all stakeholders in an educational setting: teachers, administrators, support staff, and students.
  6. Utilize educational technology, including assistive technology, in an educational setting for instruction, support, and communication.

EXPECTED LEARNING OUTCOMES

  1. By the end of the school practice, student teachers should be able to:
  2. Conduct the lessons using appropriate teaching/learning aids
  3. Prepare and use a lesson plans and schemes of work appropriate
  4. Construct objectives/learning outcomes that are coherent with subject content
  5. Demonstrate his/her ability to conceptualize the subject matter
  6. Prepare records of work, grade students appropriately and give a feedback to     students.
  7. Undertake reflections on their school practice experience

File folders, A3 Paper, Lesson Plan books, Carbon  paper, wall chart paper, dusters, pair of scissors, razor blades, Cello tapes, blue pens, red pens, markers, rulers, exercise books, relevant text books, pencils, rubbers, box files, manila papers, masking tape, calculators etc.

  1. Placement in a functional school
  2. School orientation
  3. Practical teaching
  4. Performing of school activities as assigned
  5. Tutor –student-teacher conferencing
