Course Description

COURSE JUSTIFICATION

Understanding students’ contexts from the Global European perspective is significant in helping them make comparisons, highlight differences and draw lessons for their own country’s heritage. This course therefore introduces students to knowledge of the Economic development of Europe focusing on Germany as a case study.

COURSE DESCRIPTION

The course entails topical issues that range from; Introduction to Economics Development, how to measure Economic Development, overviews of Developing Countries, Germany Economy on-to the Economic History Of Germany

COURSE AIM

The aim of the course is to examine the economic development process using the case study of one of the European countries (Germany)

EXPECTED LEARNING OUTCOMES

By the end of course, students should be able to:

  • Explain the concepts and issues related to economic development
  • Discuss  how Europe has been able to attain the development level at which it is
  • Describe the policies used by German and other European economies in teaching economy challenges
