Course Description:

The course unit is designed to equip students with the necessary knowledge to Plan, design and Manage databases in small to medium enterprises using Ms- Access and MYSQL and it's majorly practical based.

Course Objective:

This course is Objectiveed at:-

  1. Training the learners on how to analyze an Organization’s problems and come up with a database solution
  2. Equipping the student with knowledge to plan, design, implement manage and maintain medium enterprise databases
  3. Equipping the student with the knowledge on how to control access to, manage, manipulate, data in the database and be able to create reports that will enable managers to make better decisions

Course Learning Outcomes:

On successful completion of this course unit, the students should be able to:

  1. Identify the needs of any organization and be able to design a database
  2. Design necessary Forms, Reports and Queries for the managers to make the best decisions
  3. To select the best database model for use.
  4. To use the Entity Relationship model in Software Development. 
  5. Secure the database by implementing security measures, integrity rules, and constraints
  6. Manage and maintain an organization’s database
