Course Description

  • The course acquaints students with social research methodologies.  It equips students with social research skills that would enable them to study the ‘law in action’.  The course aims at developing transferable skills, such as research and analytical competencies. It also prepares the students to engage in research for their dissertation in their fourth year.

LEARNING OUTCOMES

  • By the end of the course students should be able to:
  • Demonstrate an appreciation of the range of approaches to the study of law and social phenomena;
  • Describe empirical research methods;
  • Analyze and present data;
  • Identify research areas, questions and methods appropriate for the identified research.
