JUSTIFICATION:
The entire program is
instructed in the English language; all assessments and examinations are
written in English. Thus this course is very important in ensuring that the
students are grounded in the English language. Communication skills are key
both in class and in field work. Tutorials are also conducted in English and
communication skills are a must.
COURSE
DESCRIPTION:
This course involves theory
and oral practice of the language. The student is trained to read write and
comprehend English language. Students practice the use of the language as well
as communication on various topics.

AIM
This course is intended for year one semester one students. It is an
exposure to English usage. It seeks to work as a remedy and to enhance the
usage of language in one‘s daily life. It seeks to enrich the
students‘communication skills and, bolster the students‘confidence when using
the English language. It also seeks to work as a base for one‘s professional
dealings. It cuts across all faculties and schools.

By the end of the course unit, students should be able to;
