Course Description

This course inducts student teachers into theories and practice concerning strategies and resources in the teaching of English with emphasis on English language teaching (ELT); English as a second language (ESL) and English as a mother tongue. (EMT)

COURSE DESCRIPTION

The course deals with the different methods, strategies, and techniques of teaching English language. It also entails the formulation of a curriculum and methods of assessment.

COURSE AIMS

The main aim of this course is to equip student teachers with skills and techniques of teaching English as a foreign language.

EXPECTED LEARNING OUTCOMES

By the end of this course Students should be able to;

  • Handle any secondary school class (S.I-S.VI)
  • Execute any topics with confidence.
  • Read further in order to improve their status
  • Enjoy the teaching of English language
