The course exposes the student to the general picture of the economy, taking an overall economic dynamics of society including inter-sectoral interdependence and operations.

Course Description

This course exposes students to the concepts and theories of macroeconomic that will help them understand the general functioning of the economy and build a foundation for other branches of economics. It gives a firm introduction to the study of the economy as a whole

Course Aim

The course aims at exploring the economy from a global perspective. It exposes the student to the study of the economy and the forces at play as far as growth and development is concerned.

Learning Outcomes

By the end of the course unit, students should demonstrate ability to:

·         Explain  the basic concepts and theories of macroeconomics

·         Discuss  how the major macroeconomic variables influence the economic growth and development of nations

·         Describe the macroeconomics to the challenge of economic growth and development of their country.

·         Explain macroeconomics techniques that can be used to analyze and appreciate the level at which our countries are in terms of economic growth and development.
