Course Description

PURPOSE OF COURSE

This course is also known as public finance or public economics. It focuses on the taxing and spending activities of Government and their influence on the allocation of resources and distribution of income. Public finance economists both analyze actual policies and develop guidelines for government activities. In the later role, economists are influenced by their attitudes towards the role of Government in society.

 

EXPECTED LEARNING OUTCOMES

By the end of the course unit, students should be able to;
