Course Description

The course focuses of training students on the use of various methods and techniques in teaching the subject matter of economics which they are expected to apply when they join the world of work after their programme.

Course Description

This course exposes the student to the nature and scope of economics and how to prepare and organize economics lessons. The various methodologies, their pros and cons are all considered.

Course Aim

The aim of the course is to produce a competent teacher of economics as far as methodology and classroom instruction is concerned.

Learning Outcomes

By the end of the course unit, students should demonstrate ability to:

·         Identify and explain the nature, scope and key concepts of economics

·         Identify and apply appropriate methods and techniques of teaching economics at various education levels

·         Appreciate the importance of teaching economics

·         Prepare appropriate Schemes of work and lesson plans essential in teaching economics at any level.
