Definition of Religion and Conflict (4 hours)

  • Forms of conflict
  • Causes of conflicts in the world.
  • Religious based Conflict (in Uganda, Kashmir, Northern Ireland, Chechnya, Nigeria, Sudan, Ethiopia, USA and the Alquaeda, Middle East, Eritrea, etc.Their causes and Effects (10 hours)
  • The creation of the state of Israel by the United Nations in 1948 and its role on conflict escalation in the Middle East.

Role of religion in conflict resolution

  • Armed conflicts / wars as saboteurs of peace (3 hours)
  • Causes (3 hours)
  • Effects (3 hours)
  • Solutions (3 hours)
  • Peace building without using war (3 hours)
