Course Description

1.      COURSE JUSTIFICATION/RATIONALE: To provide the learner with concise and thorough knowledge of Physiological functioning of the brain and spinal cord.

2.      COURSE LEARNING OUTCOMES: By the end of the course, the student will be able to:

1)      Describe the details of the physiological functioning of the different components and divisions of the brain and spinal cord

2)      Explain the general function of brain and spinal cord.

3)      Discuss the ability of brain and spinal cord during damage and injury.

4)      Explain the various neurotransmitters.

5)      Describe the mechanism of electrophysiology.
