Course Content and Outline

  1. Definition, moral, morality and religious ethics, as a guide to decision making (5 hours)
  2. Understanding ethics: meaning of ethics, happiness and good life, moral conduct, responsibility and moral duties and rights (5 hours)
  3. Ethical issues that affect social and economic development: A case study of corruption and integrity and A case study of property and its violation (5 hours)
  4. Sexual ethics and issues surrounding it; forms of deviant sexual behavior or practices, causes and solutions, gender differences and discrimination, women emancipation, and ages of consent (5 hours)
  5. Marriages and issues surrounding it; cohabiting, polygamy, domestic relations, marriage breakups (divorce), celibacy and gay marriage (5 hours)
  6. Family and issues surrounding it; changing family pattern, street children, responsible parenthood (5 hours)
  7. Case study of the human rights that affect social development: property (5 hours)
  8. Un-health habits/tendencies and their effects; alcoholism, drug abuse, suicide, abortion individual and society (5 hours)
  9. Human rights; Bioethics, war and conflicts (5 hours)
