During this course students will be given theoretical and practical knowledge. For practical knowledge, the students will be sent to the health centre, where they will spend two weeks learn how in-charges run the of various aspects of the health centre.
Clinical officers are the natural mangers/Incharges of lower health centres. It is therefore necessary that they acquire knowledge; attitude and skills to enable them perform this noble responsibility.
The aim of this unit is to equip the student with knowledge and skills required for the effective management of health care systems.
On completion of this course, the graduate shall be able to:
a) Describe the basic concepts, theories, functions and principles of management.
b) Describe the organization and management of health services.
c) Describe the health management information system.
d) Apply practical approaches to improvement of health care
e) Explain the organizational structure of health services in Uganda
