Course Description


The course is designed to help students understand how to review and synthesize research literature around a nursing topic.  Students will review literature related to their chosen nursing problem from Nursing Research I and critique it and also learn how to develop a research proposal

Course Aim

The course aims to equip the learner with the knowledge and skills of critiquing and reviewing literature and developing a research proposal

By the end of this course students should be able to:

  •  Describe the purposes of a research critique
  •   Identify the differences between a literature review and a research critique
  • Critique a qualitative research article 
  • Critique a quantitative research article
  •  Discuss strategies for utilization of research in nursing practice
  •  Develop a research critique based on the nursing research problem chosen from the previous semester 
  •   Describe the review literature process and critic research studies.
  •    Develop a research proposal
