Course Description

  • The course provides a student with an insight of the incidences of trusts, the role and duties of the administrators of trusts.  It also highlights the historical development of equity and the role of equity within the interpretation and application of the written law.

LEARNING OUTCOMES

By the end of the course, students should be able to:

  1. Explain the formation of different types of trusts.
  2. State the principles and rules of equity and trusts.
  3. Explain the place equity and trust in the financial and fiscal arrangement of private citizens.
  4. Critically analyze the legal implications of vesting property in trustees.
  5. Explain the dynamics of equity and its applicability within the realm of statutory law.
