Course Description

This course enables students to appreciate the role and value of jurisprudence to contemporary states and legal practice. It engages students in philosophical analyses of the law in the African context;

LEARNING OUTCOMES

By the end of the course students should be able to:

  1. Identify linkages between the State and the law.
  2. Discuss how legal theories influence legislation.
  3. Appreciate the relevance of jurisprudence to contemporary law
  4. Analyze the development of the law in the context of social change in Africa.
