Course Description


This is continuation of introduction to midwifery. It focuses on problems arising during pregnancy, labour and Puerperium. It teaches the students the process of monitoring pregnant women with systemic disorders during antenatal, intrapartum and postpartum periods.

 Course Aim

This course is aimed at helping students to learn and practice the related processes which are necessary to maintain the health of the mother and the fetus. Course Learning Outcomes

1. To identify problems arising during pregnancy, labour and Puerperium 2. To manage problems arising during pregnancy, labour and Puerperium

3.      Identify different disorders and diseases of pregnancy, labour and puerperium.

4.      Describe the different types of malpresentation

5.      Manage different disorders and complications of pregnancy, labour and puerperium.
