Course Description

This course will help students to understand the historical foundations  of labour law and general labour rights in Uganda.

LEARNING OUTCOME

By the end of the course, students should be able to:

  1. Discuss the colonial and post colonial historical undertones of labour law and labour relations.
  2. Appraise the theoretical and historical foundations of labour law and trade unions.
  3. Examine the labour laws relating to women, children and persons with disabilities.
  4. Discuss the rights and duties of employees and employers under an employment contract.
