Course Description

              

This course introduces the basic concepts of adult learning in order for students to be aware of own and individual’s learning process. Students will identify and apply strategies to facilitate the learning of others in various health settings. The course merges theory with practical teaching and learning principles enabling learning to take place through participation in classroom teaching e.g. discussions, micro-teaching practical sessions

Course Aim

The course is aimed at equipping the students with knowledge and skills in teaching and learning so as to become effective mentors and lifelong leaners

1.      To define Teaching and learning concepts.

2.      To use pedagogical theories to teach learners.

3.      Demonstrate effective teaching strategies in the classroom and clinical setting

4.      Demonstrate the different teaching and learning methods in their scholarly work and clinical practice.
