2. Course Justification/Rationale
The course is designed to enable Biomedical Students gain mathematics knowledge and skills to enable them cope with the Mathematical application involved in health Professional training and practice especially in Physics, Chemistry and Biology. Understand and Interpret mathematical data generated by medical equipment and apparatus confidently.
3. Course Description
This course presents the fundamental principles and objectives of mathematical knowledge needed in health science practices. Topics covered include; Weights and Measures, Partial, Fractions, Linear Equations, Matrices, Quadratic Equations, Remainder Theorem, Surds, Indices, Logarithm, Factorial Notation, Binomials Theorem, Series, Coordinate Geometry, Calculus – Differentiation, Roots of Quadratic Equations and Linear programming
4. Course Aim
The aim of this course is to develop the student’s knowledge and understanding of mathematical principles used in health sciences. The course gives the student the ability to independently take part in health science research and development work
5. Expected Learning Outcomes
At the end of the course, students will be able to:
1) Demonstrate correct computation skills in solving problems
2) Willingly participate in math
