Course Description

PREREQUISITES: ADVANCED LEVEL BIOLOGY COURSE JUSTICATION/RATIONALE

To provide the learner with concise and thorough knowledge of PHAtomical

 

formation of the limbs which enable it to perform locomotory and other related functions in the human body and understanding the basis of human body development.

COURSE DESCRIPTION

 

This will be a theoretical and practical course in which students will be introduced to cadaver dissection through demonstration to identify the location of different organ structures.

To introduce to the students the structure of the lower and upper limbs so as to understand their locomotor function

COURSE AIM

 

By the end of this course, the student will be able to:

 

a.   Comprehend the normal disposition, inter-relationships, gross, functional and applied Anatomy of the various structures of the thorax including cross– sectional Anatomy.

b.   Comprehend the normal disposition, inter-relationships, gross, functional and applied Anatomy of the various structures of the viscera organs of abdomen and pelvis including cross–sectional Anatomy.

c.   Identify all the major structures associated with the thorax i.e. muscle, arterial


and nerve supply

 

d.   Give detail description of the bone composition, attachment of the muscles (origin and insertion), course and relations of the arterial supply, nerve innervations and lymphatic drainage.

e.   Name and explain the clinical features of the various parts and the

 

PHAtomical/ clinical significance of the parts
