COURSE JUSTIFICATION
The course will expose the students to the process of normal Human development including differentiation and maturation as well as the biochemical aspects, genetic formation and foetal enzymology/ endocrinology of Human development.
COURSE DESCRIPTION
This will a theoretical course delivered mainly through interactive lectures with critical thinking discussions and demonstrations.
COURSE AIMS
By the end of this course, students should be able to:
a. demonstrate a broad range of knowledge and understanding of concepts in developmental embryology;
b. Define and explain the influence of various factors on developing embryo c. Explain the critical perspectives of congenital anomalies
COURSE LEARNING OUTCOMES
a. Describe the development of the embryo before organogenesis b. Explain how the various systems of the body develop
c. Discuss the critical perspectives of congenital anomalies
