Course Description

PREREQUISITES

 

The student should have studied and successfully completed the multi-professional courses which include Biology / Chemistry / Physics and Mathematics which are tailor made for medical sciences.

COURSE JUSTIFICATION

 

Introductory concepts to Human Physiology,  Homeokinesis, Physiological Variations which itself requires that the student understands the normal functioning of the human body and in particular the normal functioning of the cardiovascular and respiratory systems

COURSE DESCRIPTION

 

This  will  be  a  theoretical  and  practical  course  where  students  will  have  classroom lectures and tutorials after which they will have hands on practical in the laboratory. COURSE AIMS

By the end of this course, the student should be able to do the following;

 

a.   Describe the functional Anatomy of the cardiovascular system and discuss the roles played by the cardiovascular system in the normal functioning of the body.

b.   Describe the functional Anatomy of the heart and the vascular system and explain their functional roles in the human body.

c.   Describe the functional Anatomy of the respiratory system and discuss the roles played by the respiratory system in the normal functioning of the body.

d.   Describe  the  functional  Anatomy of  the  respiratory system  and  explain  their functional roles in the human body.
