Course Description

PRE-REQUISITE: ORDINARY, ADVANCED AND APPLIED BIOLOGY COURSE JUSTIFICATION

Course introduces students the structure of the neck and head plus their contents to

 

prepare them for neuro-locomotor physiology. Describe the structure of the skull, its internal contents, exterior attachments, and describe the PHAtomical structures in the neck region

COURSE DESCRIPTION

 

This will a theoretical course delivered mainly through interactive lectures with critical thinking discussions and demonstrations.

COURSE AIMS

 

By the end of this course, the student will be able to:

 

a.   Comprehend the normal disposition, inter-relationships, gross, functional and applied Anatomy of the various structures of the brain and spinal cord including cross–sectional Anatomy.

b.   Identify all the major structures associated with the brain and spinal cord i.e. structures, arterial and nerve supply

c.   Give detail description of the brain, spinal cord and other nerve fibres in the body, course and relations of the arterial supply, nerve innervations and lymphatic drainage.

a.   Describe normal skull of human being


b.   Describe the external surface of the human skull and its attachment c.   Identify and describe the internal contents of the skull

d.   Describe the PHAtomical structures in the neck region e.   Describe the parts of the brain and spinal cord

f.   Describe the major nerve trunks and the tissues they supply
