i.      Meaning of the terms “endocrine and hormone

 

ii.      Tissues which secrete hormones iii.     Chemical nature of hormones

iv.      Classification according to their overall effects.

 

b.        REGULATION   OF   HORMONE   SECRETION   &   MECHANISM   OF ACTION (1 LH)

i.      Regulation of hormone secretion

 

ii.      Mechanisms of hormone action.

 

c.         HYPOTHALAMUS ANTERIOR PITUITARY RELATIONSHIPS (2 LH)

 

i.      The venous portal system

 

ii.      Hypothalmic Hormones regulating Anterior pituitary, secretion. iii.     Stimuli leading to their release.

iv.      Their effects of the Anterior pituitary. v.      Regulation of their release.

d.        HYPOTHALAMUS /ANTERIOR PITUITARY / LIVER COMPLEX (1 LH)

 

i.      Hypothalamus Secretion of GHRH/GHRIH (somatostatin)

 

ii.      Anterior Pituitary Secretion of Growth Hormone. iii.     Liver – formation of somatomedius


iv.      Target cells for somatomedius and the effects.
