Course Description

PRE-REQUISITES;

 

COURSE JUSTIFICATION:

 

This course is to expose the students to hospital, research institutions and laboratories to gain further hands- on experience.

COURSE DESCRIPTION

 

This course will consist of hands-on-practice and rotations at various laboratories around the university and hospital, it aims at equipping our students with fundamental laboratory skills that will enable them be capable researchers.

COURSE AIMS

 

During the course of study the student shall be able to;

 

a.   Identify and get attached to places providing hands on experiences (eg. Teaching laboratory, hospital practice laboratory, research establishment laboratory, radiology and imaging unit etc.

b.   Go through the available hands on experiences eg; ECG, EEG, Radiography, ultra sound, haematological assay techniques etc

c.   Daily logging of experiences gone through d.   Final writing of the report

COURSE LEARNING OUTCOMES

 

By the end of this Industrial internship, the student should be able to do the following;

 

·    Should have gained hand-on experience on methods employed in the hospital and research setups.

·    Should have integrated the theoretical knowledge learned in the class with the processes and methods employed in the clinical/industrial research settings


·    Should be able to use some of the equipments (both traditional and state of the arts) available in the clinical/research set ups.
