Course Description

COURSE JUSTIFICATION

This course is to expose the students to hospital and research institutions to gain further

 

hands- on experience.

 

This course explores the theoretical basis and practical application of modern physiological testing of cardiovascular and respiratory function with a focus on exercise and performance.

COURSE DESCRIPTION

 

This integrated lecture/lab course will provide students with an advanced level of understanding of exercise physiology and the fundamental knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform testing in the healthy individual.

COURSE OBJECTIVES

 

During the course of study the student will be facilitated to;

 

a.   organize laboratory practical in physiology

 

b.   describe laboratory procedures of the commonly done practical in Physiology c.   carryout the laboratory procedures in physiology

d.   interpret the results and describe their application in health and disease

 

COURSE LEARNING OUTCOMES

 

a.   describe the procedures of the commonly carried out physiology practical b.   organize physiology practical

c.   describe the principal behind the commonly used equipment in Physiology d.   describe and interpret the practical results
