Course Description

To enable students use and integrate environmental economics in the design and implementation of development plans and projects

EXPECTED LEARNING OUTCOMES

By the end of the course unit students should be able to;

·         Explain the true cost of development in terms of environmental productivity

·         Discuss  the relationships between ecosystems and economic systems

·         Explain how the general economy affects natural resources and environmental services

·         Describe the  use economic methods in environmental conservation that generates economic benefits

·         Explain the skills and competence to carry out research in environmental management so as to generate information that can be fed into the policy-making process for sustainable national socio-economic development
