Women’s Day: KIU Alumnus and Female Youth Leader Hasahya’s Message
March 8, 2021, 3:51 pm
This course aims at introducing students to the most important and current policy issues facing Sub Saharan African countries. The issues involved are numerous and complex and as such the course design adopts as unifying themes “development” as the relevant background to the policy issues and “adjustment” as the currently dominant policy framework. On the basis of this understanding the objective of the course is to equip students with a fairly rigorous understanding of the policy content of adjustment programmes.
EXPECTED LEARNING OUTCOMES
By the end of the course unit students should be able to:
· Explain the Structural adjustment and the implications for welfare
Discuss the factors of comparative economic development.
Describe the open economy and external debt management sources of growth.
