Course Description

COURSE DESCRIPTION

 

This course deals with the review of number systems coding and Boolean algebra; inputs and outputs, gates and gating networks, combinational circuits, simple interfacing, standards and Digital Logic applications, IEEE compliant.

 

COURSE JUSTIFICATION/RATIONALE

 

This course provides comprehensive idea about working principle, operation and characteristics of electronic devices, transducers, Digital Electronics and Communication Systems.

 

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

 

By the end of this course, the student should be able to:

  • Discuss simple combinational logic circuits and their applications
  • Apply logic gate circuits in different electronics devices.

A student completing the course is expected to:

  • Use logic gates as the fundamental building blocks for digital system.
  • Characterize the different logic circuit realization technologies.
  • Design simple combinational logic circuits using common small scale integration ICs.
