Course Description

COURSE DESCRIPTION

 

This course unit begins a review of D.C and A.C Transient analysis. It contains applications of Laplace’s transform, Network functions, Network parameters, Filters and Fourier analysis with A.C analysis.

 

COURSE JUSTIFICATION/RATIONALE

 

The purpose of this course is to relate basic electromagnetic concepts to the performance of transmission lines & Networks and to design a transmission line with minimum reflections and maximum received power

 

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

 

By the end of this course, the student should be able to:

  • Describe the concepts involved in network analysis
  • Explain the synthesis of networks

 

LEARNING OUTCOMES

 

A student completing the course is expected to:

  • Synthesize within a reasonable percentage error any given filter specification
  • Design the synthesized circuit with practical parts
  • Test and improve the design if required
  • Analyze any filter configuration
