Course Description


This course is concerned with the application of economic criteria to chemical engineering design or decision making. Topics covered will include comparison of alternative projects, optimal design project, interacting projects replacement problems, problems involving constraints, decision reversal points, depreciation methods for two and profit calculations risk and uncertainly, inflation and price changes.

Course Objectives

This course is intended: 

  • To give students a background to chemical engineering economics
  •  To enable students appreciate and apply chemical engineering economics to design on decision making.
