COURSE DESCRIPTION The course Introduces areas of construction field management which relate directly to on-the-job requirements of construction operations viewed from the construction superintendent's standpoint. It includes theories of project management and field supervision, utilization of equipment, labor and material, construction site development, requirements of field scheduling, management input requirements, job recording and documentation, and supervision responsibility. It may include field trips to project sites. |
COURSE JUSTIFICATION/RATIONALE This unit will enable students to learn the fundamental concepts of construction management principles in the field of construction engineering and management
LEARNING OBJECTIVES By the end of this course, the student should be able to: · Gain knowledge required for construction management industry of projects of different scopes. · Acquire knowledge of labour and materials control · Understand the basis techniques for scheduling and control · Acquire knowledge required for job recording and documentation
