Course Description

This course enables students acquire more knowledge in probability and distribution theory.

Expected learning outcomes

  • Students shall be able to solve problems relating to continuous and discrete data using the different distribution functions.
  • Students shall understand Markov and Chebychev inequalities and proofs.
  • Students shall know how to compute Moment generating functions of different probability distributions. 
  • Students shall know how to compute standard error from different sampling distributions.
  • Students shall understand statistical modeling and econometric analysis.
  • Students shall be able to identify different  statistical tests, such as F-test, t-test, z-test and other tests.
