Course Description

This course is a continuation of intermediate macroeconomics and it gives students a consistent way of approaching the full range of the contemporary macroeconomics issues and be able to internalize how formal models can be used to explain the real economy. Thus the course is dedicated to showing the application of the theory to real events and issues and in helping the student learn how to: think like an “economist”. The numerous “Application” are designed to show how theory can be used to understand and important episode o issue such as the impact of tax reform, the causes and effect of LDC debt crisis etc….

EXPECTED LEARNING OUTCOMES

By the end of the course unit, students should be able to:

  • A consistent way of approaching the full range of contemporary Macroeconomic issues. At this stage, the needs lots of help in internalizing how formal models can be used to explain the real world economy to real events and issues and in helping the student learn to: think like an “economist”. The numerous “Application” 
  • To understand an important episode or issue such as the impact of tax in the face of foreign competition, etc.
